Expert in ruminant nutrition Fatty acid biohydrogenation in the rumen and manipulation Professor Veerle Fievez leads research and teaching in the field of ruminant nutrition at the Laboratory for Animal Nutrition and Animal Product Quality, Faculty of Bioscience Engineering, Ghent University (Belgium). Research expertise linked to the COST action, involves fatty acid biohydrogenation in the rumen, its manipulation and effects of biohydrogenation intermediates and (protected) dietary fatty acids on animal and human health. In this respect, she participated in two EU reseach projects (Healthy Beef and the ongoing project ProSafeBeef). She is associate editor of Animal.
